I so agree with you, in so many stories the FLs are portrayed as idiots with zero self respect going Kya kya~ for their fav character.
And even if the MLs grow up to be kind later it still doesn't satisfy me because they are assholes no matter what and no human (atleast not me) would forgive someone for treating them so bad.
Exactly thats how i feel. that happy endings are not so happy for me.
Even if Mc’s loves a character, she still have to love herself more. Why would someone insist on putting themselves in a weird position like tha?

If I were her I would go straight back to my home. Enough is enough. Unlike Mc, I have self respect. I never get obsessed a character at the book before so I can never understand her. Ofc I often get second ml syndrome but not this far.
Specially that guy is acting like trash... If that was in real life, that guy would never be a cutie after. He would stay as trash. So I think, romanticizating this kind ml types are might be the reason for toxic relationships.
