Ok, don't hate me for saying this, but did yall forget about shounen ai and fluff? Not every m/m situation shoots directly to yaoi. Like I get it, the comments where ppl start speculating and sexualizing a character can get real annoying, but if it's just pure speculation on the story through contextual notes and common tropes, then I don't see where the harm is. I can see why ppl are saying she could be a guy and the reasons for it is kinda convincing even if it is kind of a reach. Who doesn't love a little plot twist? It certainly adds a little depth to the story.
But when ppl start saying things like "if you want yaoi, go read yaoi instead of a straight story," that just personally irks me the wrong way. 1) Is it wrong to have gay couples in a straight story? 2) Why exactly do you think I've picked up this story and read til this point? I'm here for that straight shit.
But I also understand that there are some thick-headed ppl out there who don't understand that some things don't need to be expressed to the public.
First off no one is saying there can’t be gay couples in a straight story. We’re annoyed that people is shipping two STRAIGHT males together. I love yaoi but it irks me when I’m reading a straight story and i see people in the comments shipping two straight males together. If you’re only reading the story just to be ignorant and ship two straight males together then what the point of reading the story? You’re better off reading a bl story if you’re gonna ship them together. Shounen Ai is still the same as yaoi. It’s just not doesn’t include sexual scenes like in yaoi. Also I’m not talking about the comments saying the girl is a trap (even though that irks me too cause a female can naturally have a deep voice) but im talking about the comments that were shipping the prince with the glasses guy. It’s irritating people just want to read a story without someone shipping two straight males together.
Wouldn’t you be annoyed if you’re reading a bl/yaoi book and people is shipping the ml with the female friend especially if the ml is gay. First off they’re disregarding their sexuality and shipping them with the opposite sex that they’re not into. I don’t care if people wanna ship the characters but don’t ship two straight males characters together or a gay character with a female. That just disrespectful and you’re disregarding their sexuality to fit your preferences.

not yall trying to turn everything into yaoi
