I have a suspicion that it might be poison or anything that could lead to the king looking like that (sudden enlargement of veins and all). Somebody must have planned it especially when they said that the king doesn’t have any sickness that could lead to abrupt death.

Oohh, I don't know if such poison exist in real life. But since it's fiction, that is highly possible! I feel like the second prince is somehow related to it. I feel like he's the one who planned it. After all, based on what the archduke said, although he doesn't have any strong 'backers' yet, the second prince is more suitable for the throne.
Yep, I agree. Although food poisoning can lead to abdominal distension and gas, I highly doubt that the stomach expansion is as extreme as the king has. What I found out though, is Toxic Megacolon. It’s a deadly disease that can lead to abrupt death (I think XD). Anyways, there are lots of diseases that includes abdominal distension as a symptom (there’s a lot, I looked it up hehe). So the king ‘may’ have a natural cause of death. To me, both the princes are really sus haha. The first prince seems extremely dramatic. Well, to be fair, he just lost his dad. But Ebony is somewhat a dark story, I highly doubt that the king loved his sons. And I also doubt the first prince will let anyone take his throne, and he might be annoyed that his father never really chose a successor. It’s all just theories on my part, though hahaha
Oohhh. I looked it up, and there are indeed a lot. There's nothing as extreme as the King's so it's either it was just an exaggeration orrr it's a poison/disease that only exist in their world.
My first impression of the first king was a passionate spoiled brat so when he cried, I wasn't that surprise because I assumed the king dotes on him. But thinking about it, if the king really likes the first Prince, wouldn't he just announce him as his successor? He's the eldest after all. The first prince might even use the situation to his advantage and claim the throne. He got strong backers and he's the eldest. If they followed the tradition, he will definitely get the throne.
