From what I have seen, the father is more of an absence parent than a "bad" parent.
Like he's too busy dealing with the country, politics and all and he doesn't know how to be a parent but he never wants to do anything bad to her so he only knows to give her whatever she wants and lets her do whatever she wants.
BC he's a clueless father and he thoughts that would make her happy.
