So we know she was adopted by a family of assassins. The ML/Target is extremely sus and is a lot more devious than the FL. He's been able to dodge all those attempted kills that he most likely knew were happening. He's connected to illegal drugs. The client is clearly stating the ML is a criminal.
So either the ML is actually some sort of agent for the government that is dealing with the underground and the client caught on, or the ML is part of the illegal drug trades as an actual criminal. There's also the theories I've seen that the ML could be the TRUE client, hired the fake client to then hire the FL to have her come after ML because ML has the hots for her.
In some scenes, I can't differentiate whether he's making an angsty face or a devious face. All I know is that our man is sus, smart, and stringing our girl along like a fish on a reel.
Anybody care to share some ideas? What could be more likely? I've become too heavily invested in the plot that the smut is now just a side bonus.
