I'm not saying that it can't be helped that movies, songs, arts, and even comics at some point, will always be illegally distributed, but it does. Even if I say that we should be giving support to the artists, I can't say the same for others. And if an author is so hellbent on taking down every single illegal translations, then they would have a hard time because if one account gets taken down, another would always pop up.

I respect the author if they drop their manhwa. That is their call to make. Some readers may be sad, but they would move on with their day and find another story to read. At the end of the day, it's always the author that'll be taking the brunt

Well maybe things should go the over way around, applying the same rules as for music and radio ? General contribution when you’re paying internet ?
In any case, any writer knows before publishing too !

They aren't talking about taking down the illegal sites. That's an endless battle. What they can do is start dealing with sites that you have to pay to use, and coding their word so that every time a site loads it illegally they are sued, AND shut down. They can make it that getting their stuff is harder and harder even for those of us that pay for their stuff. The difference with these and music and movies is that most people still pay for movies and music even if they can hear one or two songs for free, not all of it can be gotten unless you buy it. These comics are getting snipped really fast and a good 85% to 95% of these authors are getting even a fraction of what they are entitled to. So who cares if they take their stuff down right? There's plenty more illegally translated works we can read, why should one artist matter? What if they all do the same, and stop loading their works? Will you still say it's okay?

You are not wrong, but that is essentially the whole reality of any content creator. Artists would securely have their fans, and impatient readers and watchers to pay for their content. I am not saying we should be tolerating illegal use but we're still here on this site, aren't we? Authors should've even be thinking about ways to counter piracies because their works should have been protected in the first place but then again, it can't be helped. The best way for authors to do so, is to have p2r, have their work licensed, have official translations for global users but even then, it would still be illegally distributed somewhere else. Even webtoon which is a FREE app, still have their works reuploaded. And as I was saying, if this author is dead set on taking out every single one of illegal translations of their work, to go and pressurize taking down their hardwork in order to do so, then it's really sad for them because it is going to be an endless cycle of suing person to person, but the good thing of that is probably when people start to realize that if one artist persevere in protecting their work, they would be known to sue a lot and then, people would now learn not to bother sniping their works. But that is only an 'if' situation.

And I am not lying when I said that artists take the brunt when they take down their works. People would eventually move on and find another entertainment, because they always do. And having all artists do the same is too farfetched anyway.
