He knows she isn’t weak, she just inspires in him a desire for protection. And I’m not so sure she could “whoop his ass” lol. She’s an assassin so she’s got combat skills, but I’m pretty sure they keep bringing up how thin she is because her built is exactly good for that: assassination. Not straight up combat.
