She and the emperor had a one night stand and she got pregnant. As I remember she doesn't tell the emperor right away, I think she tells him after she gave birth. And when she finally tells him about the one night stand he doesn't remember any of it so then she gets mad and says "so I confessed for nothing?!?" right in his face and then blah blah she shows him his baby(not saying the gender so you can at least have something to wait for) and he gets all happy. That's all I remember. Sorry if I spoiled too much. And yes as far as I know they do get together and pual will still be a knight(and possibly the empress)... I also heard somewhere that the emperor had a daughter with one of the concubines but then sent her away so she can live a better life. Apparently one of them got exucuted and the other became independent. I think the mother of the child died when she gave birth.
