Thank you for the heads up. I knew they’ll turn this into a shitty story, Chinese novel is mostly like this. I used to read a lot of them in past and just like you I have to stop, and it’s infuriating to say the least.
many Wuxia/Xantia novels are Harem. It is rare where the MC has only a single wife. In this series NL actually only marries the one girl but has a deep affection for the other. It is a wonderful series, so do not let this stop you from enjoying it.
First of all, enjoyment, loving it... is already nonexistent the moment the ML decided to give his you so called “affection” to another party besides his lover. I practice monogamy sexually, emotionally, and psychologically. I am not brought up in a polygamous culture that revels in it nor a misogyny social form. So no... I can never, enjoy or find happiness from reading this genre but instead I feel sad, disgusted, sick, emotionally and psychologically drained

You can't blame Nei Li both Ziyun and Ning'er saved the mc in their past life. If the mc choose between the two of them it will surely break the heart of the readers. Ziyun also acknowledge Ning'er as nie li's lover. The 3 of them are cute in different ways. Don't forget Gu Bei has 20 wives hahahaha it's pretty normal in their time. Haha lol

Just cause it's normal in a culture doesn't make it okay the author didn't want to make the choice and he betrayed the respect of both the women by making them share one guy... the readers deserved a solid choice even if half (the half that deluded themselves into supporting ning'er imo) of the fans were disappointed. Things are valuable because you sacrifice to get them and now nie li has not had to sacrifice anything for either woman. Now their relationships have no value... its all been half-assed.... it would be fine if nie li had always been a player but he had ALWAYS been dedicated to ziyun... for the author to then flip that and have Nie li chose them both is such a betrayal of everything that makes up his character. Ziyun turned down nie li until she was convinced that he would never take another wife... that was literally her original condition... how could nie li do that to her...?
