You're talking about his mother? maybe she's dead or is not in the position to move freely (=・ω・=) or he was the son of an unfavored concubine and someone made her "evil" in the eyes of the empror which led to him to flee away X)
No, I’m talking about the FMC. Chapter 1, everything was happening because her son and her fathers led a rebellion to free her. The FMC doesn’t want her son to die so she goes begging her husband to spare him since he’s his son too. She then dies when her son shoots arrows at his father because if he killed the emperor in that moment, he’d be executed for it. So she gets in the way and takes the arrows instead.
When chapter 2 starts, she went 20 years back in time and I thought the story would be very complexed and interesting from there, but instead she suddenly doesn’t care about her son to even think about how he’ll never be born if she doesn’t actually get with the same prince. The whole story grabbed my attention because of how fiercely she loved her son, but that went down the drain in seconds, so now I’m just bored with it.
To me, the only interesting character so far is the villain aka the first timeline’s emperor aka the father of the son she suddenly doesn’t care about.
To be fair, as far as she knows, her son died in that timeline as well. And not to sound calloused but why should she care if he’s never born if his destiny is to be killed by his father? She had time with him, granted not until adulthood but that’s better than nothing. If anything she’s gonna get revenge for his death. Also why should she have to sleep with that asshole again? We don’t know how long it took for her to conceive and it could’ve taken several months. Why subject her to that?

Yes. If I had a son, I would do everything to have him again. I would simply go about things differently. If she truly wanted revenge, she should’ve worked to help him get the throne again just so she can thoroughly destroy him from up there. But that’s just what I would’ve personally done, don’t mind me.

That’s definitely a way to go about it however under no circumstances would I go and continuously sleep with the cause of my trauma and my child’s death. Especially since there is a path that can make me happy and bring revenge.
We don’t know that he killed their son since she died beforehand. Also he looks like a womanizer so it’s highly possible that he stopped sleeping with her after she bore him a son. But my way does include having to seduce him, so I guess we each have things we’d be willing to do and that’s okay. I’m just saying that I can’t see myself being okay with my son never being born.
