When you add the story to want to read, reading etc. you can add a comment at the bottom on what chapter you’re on. That is also why you’ll see random numbers in the comments

When you save a manga/webtoon into your want/reading/read list at the bottom of the pop-up there's a part where it says "comment" (people usually list the chapter they're on). You can also check the box under it, so that the comment can only be seen by you.

Probably read the new chapter before you got the notification. That happens to me. (The notification something the next day for me at least (〜￣△￣)〜)

I like commenting what chapter I’m on because if there’s a bunch of chapters updates in a day and I only read some I then don’t have to go through and figure out what’s been read or what hasn’t. It’s also nice for when you temporarily stop reading a book you can pick it back up and still know what chapter your on and how many need to be read to catch up.

When you bookmark, you have to go into the bookmark and look for the webtoon, etc you're trying to read from where you left off of.(plus you're bookmarks just keep adding and adding)

Unlike commenting you can know right there and then as soon as to get the update of a new webtoon, etc.

I feel like bookmarking is my of a hassle than it needs to be.

i’ve been commenting the chapters i’m on to myself since day one. i only use bookmarks when i’m just starting a manga. like horimiya. i’m somewhere at around chapter 50 of about 100 and it’s just a pain in the ass to click on start read and scroll through the chapter list.
