they really aren’t that cocky about their powers because they don’t use them a lot tbh nor talk about them a lot. Like it’s only the beginning of this story you barely know what they have going for themselves. They could eventually have a skill of swordsmanship and you act like it ain’t normal for a teenager to cheat on their tests? Sorcery and Summoning is very very different and they found a loophole of completing her tests. If they can’t be a sorcerer they can be a summoner. They’re powerful because both parents just so happen to have one being a king of water spirits and another is a very powerful sorcerer and summoner. Plus in the beginning they couldn’t even do simple thing with their MAIN element aka water. Couldn’t even breathe under water. So i think you not being able to stand the MC is kinda too early in this story. Chill and wait for character and power development

@dessy controversial enough that 22 people agree with me and 16 didnt. That’s pretty split I’d say. Anyway you ought to read stuff with good pacing. These stories intrigue, character development, and plot pick up well before chapter 40 IMO. If you hadn’t read these yet, here’s some suggestions: (most of these re roughly in the same vein as this manhwa so you might like them)
-emperor and the female knight
-a step mother’s marchen
-Ebony
- solo leveling
- Beware of the villainess
- When the villainess loves
-It Looks Like I’ve Fallen into the World of a Reverse Harem Game
- King’s maker (yaoi but damn the first season is only 37 chapters and so much happens holy hell)

In your opinion. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ it’s more along the lines of how people defend him like “well have you actually met the guy??? Do you know his whole story??” No. Not really. You don’t need to know everything about a person to not like them. In this case we’re literally reading the character’s story. The character is literally “showing their character” in every chapter lol. We know their personality and how they deal with situations and bottom line is
Idon’tLikeThem
Doesn’t matter to me if you do because that’s your opinion. But go off I guess ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Lol I literally said I was going to pause this and wait for 20+ chapters and come back to see if there’s any improvement.
You can always learn from story telling tricks from good stories but more so from bad ones. And putting it into words about why i think they aren’t doing as well as they could is fun to me. Also the plot felt like such a train wreck that I couldn’t help but keep reading.
You can always just downvote and ignore such comments. Life’s no fun when you’re stuck in an echo chamber with people who only agree with your opinions.
Plus if there were people on the fence about reading this, imagine if all there were were comments singing praises. They’d think the story is amazing only to go in, waste an hour or two to be sorely disappointed. The fact that more than half of the people who voted on this comment agree with what I said shows that the story isn’t universally liked. Having a few critical comments hurts no one and helps people make better decisions. Like a negative Amazon review that actually takes the time to explain why the mc is unbearable or why a story is bad. Feel free to get mad at the people who say “this story sucks” with no explanation though.

Cant stand the MC.
Overly cocky with “their” powers but ultimately mediocre with their skills. The only thing they have going for them is the mana that they were born with which came from their father. They barely know how to use the sword, they cheated in their sorcery training by relying on their summons, and now they only use their summons to fight for them and for some reason everyone thinks that’s skill. All they’re doing is telling their more skilled workers what to do like an incompetent boss who really takes the cake with “my subordinates triumphs are my triumphs”
Someone slap them with a wake up call??? Or are we just goin g to keep having this Mary Sue shoved down our throats??
