I thought the exact same thing too why she just doesn’t quit. But I don’t think she can if she works that close to the emperor and they’ll inquire her to as to why she wants to quit. Also maybe it’s worse to tell ahead especially when the emperor was out looking for her so her quitting will be a reaction to the search and that’s what the emperor probably wanted
She should resign if she whats to keep it a secret cause she won’t be able to when she starts showing
