i mean there is a lot of interesting works that doesn't include rape, but somehow author tends to cater to that somehow it makes me question their creative mind :( , and dont forget the toxic relationship dynamic i just don't get the hype around it, "cuz its love" somehow everything seems okay cuz its love -_-
yes, i agree with that, but I'm more concerned for the author's mental health since most works are usually based off of things that happened to the author themselves. that doesn't make what author-dono does okay, but it would explain if all of their work is like that. well that or they have a fetish > >. but yeah that dynamic sucks and i agree w that, but still, saying that rape is a plot convenience when its not, it's trauma. even in yaoi, rape isn't seen as a 'plot convenience'. like in POTN the plot convenience isn't the rape, but that nakyum is known for their erotic drawings. in KS, the plot convenience wasn't rape, but that yoonbum and sangwoo knew each other and sangwoo helped bum in the military. those are plot conveniences to make the story progress easier without too many holes. using rape as a plot convenience doesn't really work. like i get what you're trying to say, like 'bc mc was (almost but still) raped, he sells his body to feel that gap and that's why he's a prostitute. but the backstory wasn't needed. it wasn't for plot to explain the situation or to make things flow easier because saying mc needed money would have more than sufficed, but that can't really be used in the same context bc mc didn't know that mr sato or some shit was the assaulter. you know what i mean?

okay so basically mc gets raped by this next door kid or whatever an sends up becoming a prostitute to kind of fill that gap. it's trauma, he is constantly reminded of this and he meets mr childhood rapist/ sato or some shit. and BASICALLY sato manipulates him into liking him for the plot of revenge but he ends of falling for him, and then our mc finds out that sat is the childhood rapist and still loves him claiming he was always ''gentle'. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?????? this is NEVER okay. keep in mind mc was basically cooped up in the house and was conditioned to fall for him.
