Holy moly! I was really bugged by they thinking she was like a walking mountain but now I understand! OMG I'm pretty shocked like I'm 5'5" woman and one of shortest in my family but to think I'm a little taller than the average Japanese man I'm shocked (⊙…⊙ ) and kinda happy (not gonna lie hahaha) (￣∇￣")
Ok though this was not right so I google it the average height for men in Japan is 5’7 and the average for women is 5’2

Because despite the statistics, curltural bias and traditional norms still persist. Asian cultures tend to favor women who are smaller, frail looking, and feminine. At 5 ft. 4in., I have people telling to never wear heels because it would be bad if I tower over my future husband and it would make me look huge and promiscuous. Which I promptly took to mean I should wear three inch heels/wedges.
