I think he was just uncomfortable with the thought that the guy he used to like so much, not to mention even helped picking the gift, used to go out with the chief. It gave him mixed feelings, entirely he might not be over with his crushie but he did had the resolution to move on. But when it hit him that the reason that made him moved on was the chief prolllyyy gave him the mix signals, but either way bottom really likes chief, he likes his ex-crush but as a friend, that's how I understand it LOL.
Right? I don’t get it, he avoids him for days, thinks big about how he’s gonna clear up whatever needs to be cleared up, meanwhile........ wtf is he actually saying?? Does he like the ex still? I’m not even sure that’s what he meant. Maybe I’m just too emotionally stunted but I don’t get this whole ch.
But to the point avoiding him for days? And then give him a reason that he was hurt because chief's ex was his crush? Like he was really being unfair to the chief

Can someone explain this to me? Because it seems like the mc is still not over with his crush I get that he was shocked but the way he explains it he made it sound like he was jealous of the chief for dating that person and if I were on that chief's shoes I'd be mad tho like it was an ex there's no point on getting so angry at me because of the person I've already been done with and if my boyfriend were to avoid me because they were jealous(?) at me for dating his crush I'd be really mad tho like why are even dating me if you still had some lingering feelings to your crush? I don't want to hate the mc just because of my opinion thats why I wanna ask you guys on what you think because maybe I interpreted it wrong
