Tbh I don’t think it’s bc he wants to get close to her. I remember reading that his attention to her is like him giving his attention to an ant on the streets. I think rather than get close, he finds her amusing and likes to see her desperation in getting their (her family’s) attention. In short, her family should burn (╬￣皿￣)凸
