I dont rlly consider it as "friendly", i just think she has conscience. You know someone is being friendly to you then of course she shouldnt be rude right? And she cannot really cut them off in her life because her string of fate is entangled with their's. You cannot really change the fact that u will interact and socialize with them when you are in a NOVEL and holds a significant character. Maybe not as planned in the novel, they will and certainly meet and bump into each other.
So bottomline, she just have conscience and she's in a novel and holds a significant role.
Personally, i would do the same as Melissa just for entertainment

There is the indication that she will respect them more after they do the work to become better versions of themselves but to tolerate them and still seeing them in your life...
