if the wife you love dies giving birth to the child (that you made together (?)) wouldn't the obvious response be to love and cherish the life she left behind???
her family is the worst for expecting her to love (?) them even after all the shit they put her through. at this point i sincerely hope they don't get a redemption arc, that would ruin everything :)
