God, you're just putting words in my mouth at this point. You can write about rape, and it's perfectly fine, but justifying the characters actions is NOT at all how you handle that topic. You have to show that rape is by no means a healthy start to a relationship, and is undeniably wrong, and while it would be really interesting if they could truly potray what kind of character Kang is, they instead started justifying his actions, which just left a sour taste in my mouth rather than me enjoying the story. Also, if people didn't write stories with the characters actually having real emotions, then books wouldn't even fucking exsist (that was a point in your comment that was just straight up ridiculous. You literally said that characters can't have emotions. Like bro, what the hell are you even talking about?). The point is, the author didn't handle the topic well at all and didn't present it as it should be presented. THAT right there is a simple, honest review. You call it trashing because it goes against your opinion, which just kinda means perhaps you got yourself into a topic that you can't handle. Either way, the fact that you said that characters can't have emotions, otherwise the book would be a "colossal flop" says enough to me about how much you know of literature, or rather... This is written for adults who already know that rape is by no means a healthy start to a relationship and is undeniably wrong. They don't need to be shown this simple fact by way of a story. Adults don't need to be shown the moral of a story. They can sort these things out for themselves without having to be instructed by examples in stories.
Grownups don't want to impose rules on authors about how stories must be written. Authors can justify rape all they want in a fictional setting. Why? because adults can read anything without there being a moral to the story. Adults don't need a moral to any story. They can freely read anything because they've learned to discern for themselves what's right and wrong.

The author doesn't need to handle the topic well. She can handle it however she want to construct her story. This is the freedom adults enjoy. This is why impressionable children shouldn't be reading these works.

LK raped him cz he thought it was OK to do it..not cz he, we or author thinks that he has some tragic past or he's hot! U keep talking about character development, like u expect it to happen in a blink of an eye. How u want him to reflect on his doings when there is no1 near him to tell that. How? No parents, no friends, no siblings. He has been living alone since childhood n is being manipulated.All he's seen is one bad guy around him, who is crazy as hell.obviously he'll b the same. HE IS A MESSED UP CHARACTER! WHAT DO U EXPECT? Even if he's like that, no one's saying yeah keep on raping, thats your right! No one! & the author perfectly handled that well. I cant expect LK to suddenly realize he's wrong.It would be weird!
If your criteria for liking a messed up character is different, that doesnt mean he isnt likeable.n what does even by "hot" means? When u say a character's hot, it means he's drawn magnificiently. It doesnt mean in any way that him being hot justifies his actions! For heavens sake thats the way kids think , not literature geeks.
