Revenge isn't clear cut where you just kill off that certain person and it's done. That's why there were certain blood feuds between families and unending bloodshed. The only time the killing is over is when everybody is dead or there's only 1 person standing...
He already knew that. That's why he's trembling at first. But he choose that path. The path where he will kill everyone and fulfill his revenge. Just imagine. If you got so angry, you don't have a control of yourself. Then what if you hate someone to death? Kids? Humanity? I don't think that's matter anymore when that happen.
But I must say that this mc still have a bit of humanity. Compare to this one revenge story I have read, the mc don't even care about children

Well revenge is okay but what about the innocent people especially kids who might even didn't know the history of ex hero excecution. they didn't deserve to die meaninglessly.. that'd make the mc is as evil as the people who judge him and the hero in the past
