Not sure if you have your answer yet but her father and brother are still awol and her mother is dead. Her mother couldn’t stand the pressure of taking care of Chise and fending off the monsters and spirits that were trying to consume them both. She tried to kill Chise but came back to herself long enough to realize she was a danger to her daughter and killed herself instead. Chise later made the decision to sell herself at auction. No idea why the Dad left, perhaps he realized that he couldn’t keep them all safe, and so decided to take his son that didn’t attract monsters and leave? There is a terribly sad part where Chise sees him leave and kinda understands he isn’t coming back.
So spoiler on this spoiler if I remember right
I think the dad couldn't take anymore of there, the mom and a little of chise's, ghost spirit shit freak outside and just wanted to live a quiet normal life with the normal kid who could live in a "decent human way" so he left quietly
Just finished watching the Anime, and now i'm here looking for answers. WHERE IS CHISE'S FATHER AND MOTHER?!
i know there's a big story out there.
Her mom died, yes. But never complained where they go.
And remembering her father's reaction when he see that kind of curse/spirit. I wonder what really happened.
I even googled it and no one can explain what happened.
I hope there would be answers soon.
