No it’s more like he was treating her coldly because of some bullshit. He doesn’t want to divorce her, but he has to keep up his facade or what not. So he agrees to the divorce and this demand but he still likes her so he can’t let anyone else have her . I might just wait for the story to be updated before I read it again.
