I read this from another spoiler but eventually the princess finds out that the rumours are true and confronts so Ian fucks off somewhere(I can't recall where) and Raymond realises how much Ian means to him and finds him. Raymond decides to leave behind everything he had attained to live a happy quiet life with Ian.

The rumours about Ian was actually started by the princess, she guilt tripping Ian to left Raymond and he did. Raymond's plan didn't go well (he planned to wait the count to be killed and break the engagement) as the king want them to married first. When Raymond knew that it was the princess that caused Ian to left he planned another insurgent with William and the people and in the process the count he hated died. then he left everything to go for Ian, and they be happy. (⌒▽⌒)

im sure he did because ian does leave raymond, and that's when he realized he can't live w/o ian and that's when he decided he didn't want to marry the princess.
