Maybe she's afraid that if she falls in live with him then then break up. it will hurt her so fucking bad and she'd rather not suffer. That's my opinion lol

Why can’t she just be with the duke. It doesn’t even matter if she’s not suppose to be with him because of the female main lead. As soon as a different event happens that entire story rearrange itself to get somewhat back on its path. She’s doing some unnecessary worrying.
