The holy sword has been rejecting him since they went in the ancient ruins and some black magic (?) surrounded him as he saved Ivona. And for the last chapter, there's black magic surrounding Claude too and as Ivona said, it seems like his voice changed which I think the evil thing inside him or that black thingy.
