I love how twisty turny this story is. I ship emel and her. He loves her. But he also new as a knight he wouldn't be able to marry her. She is nobility. Sure I totally agree he should have said something. But I can also understand it from his point of view. He loves her. And he also watched her grow up.. I hope they fall deeper in love.
