He is a possessive man. Actually in the novel even he couldn't stand how she sat with another man. But he hides his feelings always. He first tiyght she was just acting and tought she wont really take a male prostitute but when night comes, he asked for her place but servant told him she was not here and leaved already. He got mad and shouted. Later he nearly ran with his all might and went the place before her (this part not clear) and gave more money that old woman. He couldn't stand how she will embraced by other men so he prayed while he was on horse about "please.. I hope you didn't arrived before me.." later he played prostitute role because he tought if she got pregnant before the divorce even her family can't use that bastarad child towards me if it is really my child. (But that was a excuse because he just couldnt accept his own feelings).. he hides his identity but when she told that was my first kiss he realized nearly how he treated her.. he actually protect her towards her family later. Even begged and knees in front of everyone for her. He cried when FL leaves him.. he always tought FL was a bad person like her family and wanted use him. But later he noticed how he is wrong.

No he didnt cheat her actually he didnt cheat because of his own ego. If he cheated his wife his name will look bad so he didnt cheat his wife
