I don't know if you'll like the female leads there but they were actually nice ones for me. In fruits basket, the fl was kind and gentle but she wasn't a pushover. She also helped a lot of characters emotionally/mentally. In Horimiya, the story is chill and the fl and ml are open about their feelings to eachother. The fl might get grumpy sometimes but she's still likable. The fl on the third one wants to know more about love from a person who gives a lot of love. I also like the amount of patience they have for eachother in the story. All of those are good shoujo mangas. The mls are also nice.

I agree with ya cause I've read all of those stories and I just finished the anime series of Fruits Basket (which rejuvenated my young soul) and THEY DID NOTHING BUT MAKE MAKE PROUD WHEN THEY ADAPTED HORIMIYA!!! ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS!!

Most shoujo manga are written by women. The "dumb ditzy female lead x rich handsome all around perfect male lead" trope is the most popular among female readers, apparently.

Well I'm pretty sure making a story isn't easy.. and characters have their own flaws just like how real people do... (٥↼_↼)

Yeah this true but it always seems like the authors of these shojos are just use the same stencil every single time...

Like with era we're in woman are always treated less than what they are capable of in my opinion if a woman were to reincarnate she would be unstoppable due to her knowledge but of course that also depends on how old the girl is when she dies and her experience.

No my comment wasn't meant to be hostile or anything lol. It's just an advice, because while i also like reading dumb shoujo full of cliches sometimes, i think josei and seinen manga have better female characters, if you're looking for that

I don't remember all of the romance manga i've read, but the ones i can recall on top of my head that i like are Emma, Soulless: The Manga, Baraou No Souretsu, Raise wa Tanin ga Ii, and Natsuyuki Rendez-vous.

It'll definitely take me a bit to find my favorites but 3 of them is Yona of the dawn, Reimei no Arcana, Diner for now.
