I get what you mean. It happens to me too, but only with younger characters. It's as if I'm reliving my childhood crushes through young and lovable characters. I get thrown back to when love and attraction was innocent, as opposed to matured characters who's love is a bit more passionate and tinted with a bit of sexual tension.

Woah. I never thought I'd see someone so invested in incriminating people. For someone who seems to be preaching to others about "bigoted" ways of thinking, you should be careful about the way you phrase things; unless you want to look as the bigoted one.

I understand what you are saying and I see the point you are trying to make about feeling "attraction" towards minors. However, attraction is synonymous to many words and connotations. Yes, I know you are worried about a sexual attraction, but I think you need to also remember that attraction is not only a romantic or sexual word. I personally am attracted to Lehan for his dedication to his family and his honorable character. I am attracted to the FL for her rage and tenacity; her character is not only attractive but also admirable and it makes me love and respect her the same way I idolized friends and peers when I was her age. I am attracted to Tori, not because I necessarily like or admire her, but simply for the fact that her background and the truth behind her is so mysterious. Tori pulls me into her story - THAT is why I feel attracted towards her. Many stories where the main characters are children (Shugo Chara, Kamichama Karin, Princess Tutu, Sailor Moon, etc) bring me back to my childhood where my life was boring. Others may find their stories to be an escape of their childhood traumas. And some may be brought back to their memories of having childhood crushes and may enjoy the feeling of having that innocent love and attraction that we have grown beyond. Being able to find yourself and put yourself into the shoes of characters and experience emotions from a fictional story and characters is a testament to the skills of this author. However, the readers should also be praised because this skill of living in someone else's shoes is called empathy. Readers like meself who found themselves feeling "attraction" towards characters because it brought me back to my childhood where I also loved people should not be shamed or be called pedophiles simply because we admit to feeling emotions towards characters. Are we supposed to be indifferent to characters? Is that how reading works? Are humans emotionless animals that are supposed to always be reading a story simply for it's plot? Are characters not encompassing human characteristics that we cannot relate to them at all? I don't understand your point of commenting on this if your only reason is to shame people for not having the same view and reading experience as you... I ask, what was your reason for reading this story and steadily labeling people as predators? Do you not understand that you seem pretty narrow right now? I stand for your point in making it clear that pedophilia is and should not be tolerated; however, to be someone who is quick to attack others about their honest reactions to a chapter reveals something is off about your motives.

Perhaps I'm just a suspicious person, or I am reading too much into this. But! I think we all should be careful about our words (even if they are anonymous). Empathy is an essential skill for us to all have. Being able to transform ourselves and experience a world through our imagination is part of being human and it is a way to enjoy life. I am not afraid to say that I find many of these characters and other "minors" in fiction to be attractive. My childhood crush was Tsukishiro Yukito/Yue and he still is! And I think it's fine to like these characters because I have empathy. But more importantly, having empathy means that I am aware. I am aware of fictional characters and worlds. So... don't worry, I think most of us who like and simp characters (especially minors and anti-heroes and etc) know they are fictional.
