Many people who go through traumatic things for the sake of someone often end up blaming them in the end. Because they're the ones who's on your mind as you go through everything even the bad and end up throwing it on them. In a way, it's how some parents who give birth end up hating their kids when they go through severe trauma and hardships having a mindset of "My life would've been different if you never came". I believe that's especially the case with ML as he way going mad from the torture as he was thinking of FL, blaming her for what he went through to not go mad and end up broken.
