I’m sorry but are we even reading the same story? The mf lawyer is literally a murder and pushing her brother to suicide and yall are saying you still ship the FL and the lawyer. WHAT. (● ̄(エ) ̄●)
I’ll understand if there was twist that revealed he was actually an anti-hero but I really don’t see why the brother has to suffer even more than he already has. And don’t even try using that she “shines” argument because that is probably the creepiest thing I’ve ever heard - yes specifically because he’s saying it without an ounce of emotion that resembles love.
I’m sorry but FL x the detective all the way - the only man in her life that doesn’t want her isolated or heartbroken
Because it's fiction and fucked up characters doing fucked up things is interesting. Never watched Hannibal? Do you guys ever think that maybe people just enjoy fictional dynamics like this and are perfectly aware these things are wrong and dangerous in real life or are women just dum dums to you who can't even separate fiction and reality.
Of course the lawyer is interesting but the people in the comments are just reducing this into a yandere male lead obsessed with this poor helpless woman and not just finding the dynamic interesting. There are men in real life who have committed bad things like him and are romanticed because of their looks like him eventhough they’re sickos. the fl deserves better than a psycho that wants her brother dead get yalls standard up or smth
Oh my god, this was so refreshing (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I know some may argue, “why did she let her family treat her like that? She must be stupid” but let’s not forget that her own mother told her to try her best to be successful. Hence why she trys her best to be accepted into the family. For her whole life this has been the norm until something new happens in her routine and she meets the duke.
Most of the time neglected female leads don’t even realise they’re being mistreated until they regress, meet the ml or have a life-threatening event (e.g. their family tries to kill them). It is for this reason I believe that Olivia is a realistic and strong female lead as she doesn’t require a regression or knowledge of the modern world to understand her treatment. Instead, her realisation is natural and based on a somewhat realistic occurrence, meeting the ml. She was then able to go against what she was raised to be believe and start to escape from her family.
I believe that some need to realise that Olivia will not have the same values as us who live in a modern society, she won’t see her family’s treatment towards her as abuse but instead the consequences of her joining it. In my books, Olivia is 100% a strong and likeable female lead and I’m happy to see how the story will go from here. (≧∀≦)
Icl, I still don’t get it. The FL basically changes herself just so the ML will fall for her. So he’s not even in love with her, he’s in love with this version she created for him. Like, how is that real love? How did you fall in love with him? That doesn’t add up. Surely the OG FL and the ML who naturally fall in love should be together.
Not to mention the ML is super dumb like surely the emperor is no longer on your side if you want to hide her from him. The signs are there m8 (╯°Д °) ╯
However I would still consider her a somewhat strong FL for holding on for 6 years and actually successfully manipulating him; so if this is your cup of tea, enjoy !

The only reason I'm reading this whilst ignoring all the bs with the brothers and the OG FL is that the manipulative tactics used are pretty solid: I'm someone who has a very hard time actively manipulating people all the time; it's too exhausting and I cringe when people fall for stupid gaslighting. This story is a nice way of practicing what decisions would affect the OG ML's reaction towards the FL for me.

Omg this is amazing, I’m absolutely loving it so far. Such a refreshing male lead and female lead - both strong and the CHEMISTRY IS FANTASTIC !! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
