I don't know that many spoilers for the story, so sorry if these spoilers aren't that interesting. I got this spoiler from a forum and it turns out that the reason Ian wants Melissa's forgiveness is because he doesn't want to call off their engagement (and also because he does feel bad for what he did to her in the past). The reason for that is because he needs the support of Melissa's family in order for him to remain as the crown prince. I don't know the full details, but there's some complications with Ian's background so without Melissa's support he has less of a chance of being crown prince.

I also read that Melissa and Nine are pretty much already a couple. They've even already had their first kiss (which didn't go too well but it was pretty funny lol) and they've even already done *it* too (That didn't go too well either because Nine's size was too big lmao and caused Melissa to be in pain).
