It isnt actually love. Death manipulated Ende to depend on him, to only view him as important and he himself got so obsessed with Ende to the point that he would kill a whole town without a blink. Death thinks its love, as do Ende. But real love is pure and sane and healthy. What they have is very similar to love, but it isnt love. It was close, but since Ende still cared for other people ans wanted to make friends, he still isnt completely Death's. Idk if i'm making any sense? Like, Death believes love is Ende only.thinking about him and only needing him, nut since Ende still cares for other people, not even his twisted idea of love is fullfilled. So, yeah, In the end, as the crow said, Death still doesnt meet real love
