I seen the scene and she does touch him a little, the baby I mean very softly, but it's clear her fear and mental illness from her past have taken over her. not cause she was unstable, but cause her father make her have a mental illness after the abuse and the horrible event she felt, but in that scene, she could still know who her baby was, how much she loves him, and she could touch him just a little! he was her ONLY hope and light in her life!
