theyre not "fillers" actually. watch these flashback chapters gradually become essential in tying all loose ends towards the climax and end of the story. i've been reading this writer's works and they have this distinctive style of subtly and slowly revealing seemingly insignificant details that would only make sense once you've finished reading and rereading the entire story lol it's honestly mind-blowing. The unpredictability is delicious. And it's gonna be rewarding so let's just be patient and savor every chapter haha
