Do elves have a shorter lifespan in this story? Usually they can live hundreds of years so there should still be some powerful ones and ones who remember that era after only 100 years.

So far he has not married Visti, she just thought he was going to because the families have been close since way back. Seems like he's trying to increase Lilliana's standing and make her Empress because he just emphasized to her while smirking that it's "unfortunate she's a princess of Nieta" and then Nakle came into the picture as a supporter for her. Though that's still looking iffy with all the machinations of the Gaviel family.
I still don't understand what "her situation" is. Her father is a king or a duke but his wife is the one in power it seems and she was born from a mistress? Just that?
