tbh they’re both being super dumb but i can understand where atsuto’s frustration comes from. before this, we can assume that this entire time he’s been hiding his feelings for ohdai and quietly respecting his boundaries, but then all of a sudden ohdai’s like “dude whip your dick out, it’s cool” and “hey, dude, sticking your dick in me was kinda scary but i can dig it” out of the blue. and then sometimes, with seemingly no warning, ohdai would pull him aside to have sex and ask him to come over for more than just to hang out. atsuto even kisses him and acts affectionately towards him and ohdai openly welcomes that attention.
up until ohdai says “because we’re best friends!”, atsuto’s been quietly assuming they’ve been dating this whole time. and then the other shoe drops and it turns out that his “boyfriend“ was actually just doing it because he thought he needed to get laid or else he’d turn into some type of pervert that molests people on a train? i’d get mad, too.
still, though, the fact that atsuto doesn’t speak his mind and just straight up jumps into strip-interrogation is also a huge reason why this is happening.
tldr; they’re both dumb as hell and they need to fucking TALK to each other

it’s so refreshing seeing a shoujo mc that is willing to communicate her feelings and insecurities, y’know? usually there would be a whole ass volume dedicated to her “pretending to be strangers so that he stays popular” and all that unnecessary miscommunication drama we’ve seen before. sometimes in shoujo manga these couples like to dance around their feelings so hard that it doesn’t even feel like they’re a couple in the first place.

oh, so chase acts out like that bc he has an inferiority complex abt people seeing him as a charity case bc of his dead parents :-( that’s kinda super fucked up and sad. i was always kind of indifferent to the joel-chase ship, and i never really minded it, but joel’s been getting to be a huge asshole to both jesse and chase and they both deserve better.
