Its getting so damn frustrating
Okay so from what I remember, XYA finds YHQ at the gate of the village after YHQ has his emo moment of despair from rejection/heart break, and he brings him back to their house and has the doctor dude heal YHQ. YHQ is in a slumber, and XYA not being able to sleep goes wandering around at night to which she sees Lin Shenling and idr the name of the dude the that works at the clinic (Bai Zhou? I don’t freaking remember, he’s high key irrelevant) are talking together in the courtyard. XYA wants the tea so he eavesdrops, and hears what’s his face declaring his love for Lin Shenling, asking her to marry him, to which she’s like “I love you too but I have no dowry” or something to that effect. XYA swoops in and is like “THIS IS TOO MUCH DRAMA, I WILL OFFER THE DOWRY, AND ACT AS LIN SHENLING’S FAMILY” or something like that. Lin Shenling further feels indebted to XYA bc he’s not only saved her from extensively becoming a sex slave, but giving her the one thing she’s always wanted; love and a family. XYA walks away proud of himself, then YHQ swoops in all like “I THOUGHT YOU WERE MARRIED?!?!” To which XYA is basically like “BRUH I THOUGHT YOU HATED ME”, then YHQ is like “EXCUSE U U HATED ME” then XYA is like “BRUH U ORDERED SOMEONE TO CASTRATE ME”. Then everything starts clicking in YHQ and XYA’s heads that all of this was a hella misunderstanding (their collective two brain cells kicked it into high gear) and the two start broing it around town while literally everyone thinks they are dating. Eventually XYA goes to pick up something from a jade shop or whatever, and shop owner mentions how they had fixed the jade hairpin for a desperate XYA, then YHQ is all like “just letting y’all know I still have the jade flute.” (The jade flute comes up again in a later chapter in a 10/10 scene) More happens after that, but idk where the manhua is at in the raws to know if I’m spoiling something coming up very soon, but this is basically what happens immediately after this.
