When I read the raws, the reason why the son told his mom, the duchess, to go back because having that i think red or blue cloth is the mastermind of the people who kidnap women, so basically the son is trying to protect his mother from them. For their family relationship I think it will be a slow journey for them to actually let them have that family bond the duchess wish for, I just hope the son will not put his guards up with his mother and at least show a little soft side of him for the later chapters
