i can't help but fall in love with the cast, ESPECIALLY ceres because it took 50 whole chapters to see improvement in him. fl doesn't just magically tame him; they have purposeful conversations that aren't just her comforting him but are realistic, clumsy attempts given her position. diarin escapes from the "always gentle saintess" archetype because of her quirks and extreme characterization. you WILL laugh out loud lmao.

siana's character is GREAT in writing yet unfortunately it's not consistent. it's the typic FL with numerous talents but the story gets reallyyyyy close to adding nuance (her backstory, true indifference, cunning attitude, morally ambiguous) but it just doesn't maintain her world views throughout. prince is a weird cutie and i'm particularly fond of the way this artist draws smiles! still a fun read
read it ages ago but pretty sure FL was blonde and hand an ED. was a historical isekai and the MLs sister recognized the scar on her hand bulimic people sometimes get. both the original body and FL struggled with mental health issues.

slow burn, but i cant help but feel that its required for a story this complex. johaness is my favorite part of this all: shuli is realistic in her maternal tendencies because she saw him as her saviour. in doing so, the story is able to get away with being all fluff but not filler, where her relationship with the children has is crucial to the story rather than a plot point as most "step-mother" stories do. romance takes a much deserved backseat!

a classic for a reason. i have never, ever seen a cast of characters so well-written, deep, and 3D dimensional in this genre. from the moment it ditched the 'ignorant father loves his daughter after being reborn' getup we see not only anastatia, but jennete, her father, claude, lucas as real people each with their own explainable stories and emotions that feel earned through impeccable storytelling. you WILL get shivers.
i've read up to like chapter 70 (not considering volumes) of the novel but idk if i'm stupid or the translation is poor but i literally don't understand what's going on. SPOILER: i get that gets yohan mad bc he basically forces him to have dinner with him, then his classmates basically turn on him because yohan and him fall apart. but what i don't get is: do they make up? yohan atttempts to reconcile but jun chooses not to..?
