They gave us so much stuff to shit on Oushi for, then after 40 chapters they slap me in the face with this????? Look, I know he was caring for her in his own way but that way wasn't right AT ALL. The back story of why he acts the way he does, just doesn't make his character any better, I hate him just the same, maybe even more now.
He had like, what, 10+ years to confess but he was out here pining for that long. Now that she has a itsuomi, he suddenly feels like he has to step up and, what, confess???? WTF???? IS THIS BULLSHIT???? I CANNOT COUNT THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I HAVE WANTED TO STRANGLE THIS MAN!!!! THIS MAN IS SO FUCKING SELFISH ITS SO FRUSTRATING AND ANNOYING!!!
He never thinks about what Yuki wants and always pushes for he wants onto her, like that time when Yuki went out with itsuomi, the train station scene, like, leave her alone she has her own life to live and she doesn't have to tell you who she hangs out with all the damn time, she isn't a fucking baby. Like, why is he so mad for???? God I hate tsunderes, never understood why people like them.

I mean. People can act like jerks and still have good intentions. Isn't showing his complex perspective more interesting than having a cartoon one dimentional bad guy? He's an interesting character in many ways, because despite caring for her he held her back and acted the most ableist out of most people we've seen (except maybe her brother's ex gf but we didn't even get to meet her).
People, especially young like that, do fuck up. It's refreshing to see him grow and stop being static in how he behaves and sees the world. I found people cheering for him irritating because I was like uuuh what is even there to cheer for? lol
But I like this growth moment for him tbh.
I do think he is an interesting character as a bad guy, I mean, me getting mad at him definitely shows that, I think so anyways.
Though, although he is young and can make mistakes, in my opinion, he was with her long enough that he should have realised that his way of caring for her was not right, then again no one really pointed out and told him off properly for his behaviour towards her.
His character development is nice to see, but should have happened sooner, I am just mad that he suddenly realises that he should have confessed before she got a bf. I hope he realises he's an ableist and was infantalizing her and apologises for it.
Sugisaki is so cool, definitely girl crush material for me.

The moment that "father" said that he was trying not repeat the same mistake, I knew right away he was bullshitting. If he really wasn't trying to repeat the same mistake he would have tried to check up on his daughter. Also, he's only reacting like that to news about children of similar age to her because he doesn't want to deal with police to keep up an image of a perfect family. All that was absolutely fucking bullshit, even the wife he's with now is struggling yet not saying anything probably because of the child.
First of all, I have never touched a game of Go or even seen a game of it. It was fun getting to learn about the game through this manga. It was very enjoyable overall.
Now, the problems I have, are the way Sai passed on and the ending. Personally, after Sai was gone the story felt incomplete, there was just something in the way he disappeared that didn't feel right. The ending...really disappointed with it really, that last part/arc(?) felt really rushed, like he suddenly hears of a guy who "disrespected" shuusaku and suddenly makes it his goal to defeat him and loses in the end. It was just written poorly, like I like where it was going but then somewhere somehow, the plot just ended up taking a different turn, probably since Sai's disappearance.
I actually like this, the mc is not perverted and doesn't have a harem of girls. The slimes are cute and have their own personalities which is nice to see, from the ones I've read (can't really remember the titles all too well) slimes usually don't talk or have personalities so this was nice.
I also like that the mc is not your typically hero where they "stand out", not sure how to put it into words, like he does his job as a hero but he always tries to keep his power hidden as much as possible, doesn't want wealth or recognition.
