About the whole issue with the smut, i don't think the author has any ill intention of making it "enjoyable" its simply not. Every time we see him he looks startled, hurt and defeated at the end. I think the reason some people feel the author is doing that is Because they tops ARE enjoying it-as sick as it might appear to the reader- so that's where the icky feeling is coming from. I think they are portraying that dynamic really well.(showing a assault scene without making it be like "well although he was forced deep down he really wanted them to do that)
And I don't think any of them are going to get a "redemption arc" they won't change, they simply will care more about yugoen In their own messed up selfish way and he just becomes a extension of what they care about which still will be whitin the wavelength of their character ( the i'll destroy anything but what's in my circle)

Manhua didn't show much how worst seme like in the novel so manhua reader won't hate him much. But as someone who read the novel, he was so terrible, very abusive, narcissistic, cheater, playboy, etc. The ending is awful and it was so unrealistic and annoying when author make them happy ending while the one who saves us from keep reading (2nd ML) died in tragic way.
