The ‘knight’ is the viscount, who pretended to be a knight to seduce leo’s mom (and steal secrets from boleoti) he was using her the entire time, fed her sweet nothings and eloped with her, but turns out she was useless so he left her at the orphanage, preggy, and went back to the capital. Idk if he raped her or how he actually convinced her to elope, or if leo’s mom just tagged along with him (disclaimer, i havent read the novel but read all the spoilers and reviews there is)
