This is not the first time I'm seeing this shit, it's always a fl that has freckles or that doesn't have blond, purple or silver hair color that is considered ugly and to name the story after it, even though she looks COMPLETELY normal, this is so so forced. At least be fking consistent with the title and make her ACTUALLY ugly, that way we'd be having an original plot for once.

Keep in mind this is an Asian Korean manhwa as such you must take the beauty standards of South Korea to understand that in a South Korean's mind she is ugly. First off South Koreans don't like freckles as its a hold over from the past when only those that were working in the fields and the lower class would have freckles. Women would do everything they can to lighten their skin as you see in the later chapters where at the tea party she is given lightening/whitening cream. Today in many Asian & even African nations you will still see bleaching cream being sold. Often in the past these were full of heavy metals like lead that was oxidized white. As well she is vastly overweight for someone whom is an Asian. In China and Korea the beauty standard was chicken legs or toothpick legs. This is an article of Toxic Beauty Standards of South Korea that this manhwa's inspiration comes from. Its normal to see this. https://medium.com/past-present-pop/toxic-beauty-standards-of-korean-idols-5bdcf5e4ab83 When we are reading these stories we need to take in to consideration is the manhwa a historical one and where is it coming from? Each country will have its own issues. China is very much the husband can beat the wife black & blue & they will do everything for them come back together. The reason is that it must pass the strict China's laws regarding "a woman is never to leave her husband no matter what they happens". This mindset has loosened up in South Korea but the beauty standards of South Korea as massive as its one of the worst racist nations. Its 3rd place at 87, while Belarus is 2nd at 88, and the worst of all nations Iran at 89. So you are in fact reading a manhwa of one of the racist nations that has beauty standards that has the people constantly going under the knife for plastic surgery. South Korea is the #1 for the most plastic surgeries https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/plastic-surgery-by-country . This is what is the foundation of this manhwa and any South Korean story.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-racist-countries This is the ranking showing that South Korea is the 3rd ranking of the worst racist nations in the world.

Finally someone who understands that their beauty standards are completely different from the west and when it comes to how stories are told. Us people from the west read these stories and get so upset if the female doesn't act how us females of the west do. Whether it's beauty standards or relationship standards, even the choices said MC make in storylines. Yes majority of these stories are set in medieval times but even then they pretty much hold the same standards as modern Asian countries. People and I mean vast majority of females love to romanticize medieval times but it was a horrible time for woman on beauty, thoughts, actions, and relationships. Do we still love reading them yes we do but we cannot set our standards to these times and the actions that they do. We're all woman back then meek timid females no but the very few who stood strong were either forced to be wives of others or killed because they were ahead of their time periods and went down in history.

But honestly, as much as its sad, they are in the middle of an apocalypse,it was a fitting punishment (would've been better to give him a quick death instead tho), everyone is DESPERATE to anything to live. Mc was just extremely lucky to have survived and be accepted into the group. You are gonna have to abide to them rules you like it or not, you are able to survive thanks to that place just like the others, you can't go in there and change em rules just because you find them wrong. It's a damn apocalypse guys every little mistake could lead to the deaths of all, let's say guwon did forgive him and let him live it would start a chain with more and more people breaking the rules because there is no consequences. It is a pity and morally wrong but would yall care in a damn apocalypse with ZOMBIESSS I don't think so, I'd do anything to have my ass alive

I agree. With all the protections and comfortable place Guwon provides, the least they can do is abide to the law their leader laid. It is cruel but Guwon had to choose for the community instead of an individual interest. If he gave out all of the valuable medicine to the refugees that’s in need, then what about those who are risking their lives on the battlefield? Pick a struggle, if everyone else can follow the rule, you should not be selfish. Everyone has problem, you are not the main character.

I still disagree, there were better ways to Handle this in an apocalyptic world finding others would actually be a miracle, and how would bro know where to go back? When teach arrived they had to blindfold him so the village really could've just done the same to the old guy and STILL the old guy wouldn't know where the village is

You have to think it from their point of view, ppl were living the life, then boom dead people come back to life utter chaos and despair. How would you react in this situation? I bet not calmly and composed for sure. You're right there were better ways to handle that but you gotta remember people are NOT in their right minds, the world is ending from their point of view, survival of themselves is their TOP PRIORITY, if they stumbled in a safe space and someone risked putting them all at risk of course they are gonna take drastic measures, remember that we are in a drastic situation, people are not gonna be friendly compassionate and most of all rational. Each for their own. The death of the guy also served as an example of how serius the crime was and what happens if you break the law, it's unfortunate but an example is required to show people what not to do and why. Also a personal take of mine, more people in an apocalypse doesn't necessarily mean goof, with short shorts of supplies the more people means the more to feed, the more responsible, the more the risk of getting new supplies- this is to highlight how important guwon is to these people and how anything he does is absolute.
Daym sorry for the paragraph

Oh Def I agree with this! Thanks for being reasonable, I don't agree with guwon at all and what he did. Fear and and control should never be used when in drastic situations. They cause a lot of hysteria, fear, and risks, unpredicatability. Take a look at history when has fear ever benefitted the good? Also from what were given the magots themselves aren't subject to a certain point or degree, some attack while others don't. Some are glad that the maggots meant a possibility of revival from death while others feared the catastrophic consequences of the maggots (implied in the first chapters ) we still don't know much about this tho, all we know is that some attack while others don't. I feel that if you were one to save resources you'd want to just execute the old guy with a bullet. One bullet is all it takes, I pretty sure people can sacrifice one bullet. And also simply dropping him off far away from the village (and I mean far) during their next expeditions could've also worked. He'd still be blindfolded and people would be leaving his life to fate taking away some of that guilty conscience that could've built from lingering attachments (like the son) It's rare for people to survive in apocalyptic settings realistically. Obvs in the apocalypse people will crack, depending on who you're with, what you do, what you've experienced and what you choose, but I believe there will always be a moral higher-end. Like a base morality when it comes to decisions. Like the trolley problem, save one at the cost of others or save others at the cost of one. Sorry for the long paragraph and good vibes

No prob at all, everyone as a different moral compass, and that is your take. In this case the punishment was not even chosen by guwon, rather by the people, the ordinary citizens, he did not control their opinion with fear and authority,
he let them choose. They are not afraid of the single leader they have but by the whole situation, they don't know what those creatures are capable of,its the end of the world in their eyes, yeah they walk and all but why take the risk of finding out? By this same logic why risk going outside just to leave as punishment the one single dude when you can carry on the punishment in your safe space? Ironically the only way to send off the man was by brute force and it also showed the gravity of the situation. Remember we are talking about an unrealistic and irrational crowd of people who just want to survive no matter the cost. In this case we're talking about sacrifice one save many-kind of case. The only seemingly morally sane person is the mc (and I believe he will keep thinking like that simply because he is the mc and has to be different from the rest) but ya can't slap out of nowhere guwon like it was his fault, he doesn't have the right as long as he's taking advantage of the village by Staying safe. the death of the old man was unfortunate but it was caused by the vote of the majority matter of fact he shoud go to the people who voted in favor of the kill.

Anybody got spoilers?

I read the novel a while ago but if I'm correct. After this incident he continues to prove how badass he is and MC just kinda begins to accept the fact he is a bloodthirsty mofo. In one of the incidents homegirl gets kidnapped while theyre out on assignment for her company and long story short he rescues her by murdering everyone. They keep competing In the competitin and almost win the tree contract but I one of the last assignments they almost get buried alive. Kwon chaewoo hits his head again and flips back to his old self. He doesn't know what's going on so he pretends like nothing has changed but mc. Catches on pretty quick because he's not his sweet old goofy self. He's decided he'll keep his memories to himself until he figures out what he wants from her and how he feels. In classic toxic ml fashion he decides feelings are complicated and he wants his playboy assassin lifestyle back so in literally the most heartbreaking way possible he intentionally sabotages the last assignment for the competition and breaks up with mc saying he never loved her blah blah blah. The tree they were saving was significant to this town so he invites all the villagers to come beat her up for ruining their tree and leaves her for dead. She survives of course and takes a little while to mourn his loss but her and the aunty and gyubaek I think have a mini funeral for old him. Welllll since they've been engaging in quite a lot of unprotected Sexy times she soon finds out she is pregnant. Ultimately deciding to keep the baby as her last reminder of Kim chaewoo. Kim chaewoo also temporarily falls into one last comatose episode at his own home. The psycho brother i think calla his men to go get Kim chaewoos crap and accidentally upduct gybaek who they severely mistreated until kim chaewoos lackey realizes who he is and they decide to turn him into a child soldier. Mc don't know all this however so she freaks out when he realizes he's missing watches the cctv she put up a while ago and realizes be was abducted. She calls the psycho brother and makes a deal with him to take care of his plants at his mansion In exchange for getting gyubaek back. Psycho brother agrees for some stupid ahh reason. Turns out later on the stupid ahh reason was in fact revenge. Anywho she decided to go live at this mansion and figures she may sooner or later run on ML but she's gonna treat him like the scum of the earth he is. This lasts for all of 2ish weeks though as she succumbs to pregnancy cravings of all things and the craving just so happens to be homeboys home cooked meals. She promises to spend small amounts of time with ML in exchange for food. ML by accident discovers mc is preggers and realizes he done fucked up and also that he loves her. And does his damndest to earn her trust back severely regretting his previous actions
In the wildest plot twist ever. We find out that Kim charwoos nanny mom who abducted him as a boy was the mysterious woman mc harbored for a while and called to collect reward money from. Well the psycho brother was in love with her for some weird reason and he was the one holding her hostage for years. Her death is also the reason chaewoo Kim chaewoo is the way he is as his brother promised to let her go if he turns to a life of crime. A bald faced ass lie. Psycho brother wanted Kim chaewoo to experience the pain of losing the people he loved as psycho brother knew mc was pregnant. I digress full circle moment turns out the competition was actually to find some arborists to create a new drug and the people who abducted mc several chapters back. At this point psycho brother decides to abduct MC forgot why revenge also i think. She's taken to a massive ship I think where ML will never find her or whatever. Well he does like 3 chapters later and rescues her murders his brother and him, her and the crotch goblin live happily ever after. Also rich as fuck since he takes over the company from his now dead brother.

But frankly, the sex scenes with Caligo are always the best, *JINGLE JINGLE* stay with me now *JINGLE JINGLE* I'm not saying it because I like or consent to rape OBVIOUSLY, but they are objectively better than any of the others with luxuria. Really sensual and arousing.
I'm gonna repeat it, I am saying it by an objective point of view, I do not support rape or any non consensual actions get your facts straight, please see where im going •-•
