[SPOILER WARNING] ik you asked someone else but eh spoilers are spoilers regardless of who they come from. Juvelle is missing her memories from her childhood, but first i want to explain her dad's relations with the emperor. Legis was warned by amelia (his wife), his mom, and his dad, to not trust the emperor but Legis was very naive at the time and he didn't think anything bad could happen. One day the emperor invited him over for a drink and he intentionally got Legis drunk, afterwards he made him sign this contract that would allow the ring to control Legis (like brainwash type of control). The emperor made him miss his daughter's birth, made him absent while his father was on his deathbed as well as his mother, and this caused Legis to be very upset but he couldn't do anything about it because of the ring. When Juvelle was young, Legis was a dotting father and he loved her very much. He would carry her on his shoulders and give her candy all the time...but at night he would turn into the emperor's puppet. The emperor would make him murder people and Legis wouldn't know what he's doing until he's freed from the mind control. Amelia was the only person who noticed this shift in behavior and she started to suspect he was cheating on her...her mental health began to deteriorate and everyone thought she was crazy, and her and Legis would constantly fight (mostly her yelling at him and him trying to calm her down). This also caused her relationship with Juvelle to deteriorate and she would ignore Juvelle except for when Legis was there (at night). One night she covered Juvelle mouth right before she called out to Legis and warned her saying the man who walks around at night is not her dad. One night her mom woke her up and told her to play hide and seek, and she warned her not to come out of her hiding place until her mom says so. Soon after she hid, her dad walks into her room and goes to look at her bed (seeing she's not there) and her mom follows suit and grabs a sword and holds it against Legis's throat. She asks him who he is and where Legis is and she asks if Legis is still in there. He asks her where she hid his dearest person (the emperor ordered him to kill his dearest person). Juvelle is watching this altercation and she's scared because Legis's voice sounds almost robotic. He crushes the blade and again asks her where she hid her. Juvelle comes out of the closet and asks her dad to stop but after seeing her he begins to approach Juvelle. Her mom tells her to run but Legis has already grabbed her by her neck. She tells him that it hurts and she calls him daddy and he starts to free himself from the mind control but then Amelia hit him in the back of the head with a vase. She freed Juvelle from his grasp and tells her to go get help. She can't find any servants but see's these two knights and she asks them to help. She doesn't know this but those two men are the emperor's men. After a while, she goes in to see what's happening but see's her mother's dead body, the two knights's dead bodies, and her father crying with a bloody sword in his hand. She starts screaming and having a seizure because she thought that her dad had killed them all. In reality, the knights killed Amelia and that caused him to break free of the mind control and he killed the knights...he was sobbing because he wife was dead. After that she started to scream and have seizures whenever she saw her dad so he had to suppress her memories. He became colder towards her because of his guilt of not protecting his wife and endangering his daughter, but he always loved her. All of the misunderstandings between Juvelle and Legis are cleared up after her coming of age ceremony because that's when she recalls her memories and confronts him about it.

[MORE SPOILERS] as far as what happened with the sword and stuff....he gave her the sword for protection. If i recall correctly that was literally the name of the sword (the sword of protection or something like that). He asked max to free her from the prison and in exchange he promised to help max overthrow the emperor. The guards at that prison were that of the emperor so he had to pretend to be angry towards her so that they wouldn't suspect him....however, as we know, she misinterpreted that and killed herself. After Legis found out she killed herself, he went insane. He didn't see the point in anything anymore because he failed to protect his daughter (and his wife...reference from my other spoiler). The only person he was trying to protect was no dead so he felt like there wasn't a point to anything anymore. He killed everyone and the emperor. His pendant was given to him by his father and it has the ability to grant one wish but it would cost that person their life (in this case Legis). He wished for Juvelle to have a second chance at life and btw this story follows her third life. Her first life is the one where she killed herself and her dad went insane, after that she was reincarnated in korea, and then she is reincarnated back into her original body and that is the story we are following now. Some additional info about her first life (and how crazy mikhail is)....Mikhail was the one who poisoned the princess. The empress had been planning to use that poison on max but then mikhail took it and used it on the princess. He never loved her and he had been trying to use her for power but then once he realized she was useless, he got rid of her and blamed it on juvelle because in his mind she would take the blame for him bc she loved him so much. Mikhail had also been using juvelle for power but he had some "feelings" for her (i personally doubt it but again in his mind he had some feelings for her), but her dad blackmailed Mikhail to break up with her because Legis knew that Mikhail was just using her for power. Mikhail wanted to kill Legis so that he could have Juvelle all to himself....and he wanted to kill everyone so that he could become emperor himself (this man is delusional and crazy lmao). But anyways...in conclusion Legis is a good dad and he has always loved his daughter.

(P.S. how in the hell can you write so much- like- I would at least take like 5 breaks writing everything, have about 20 spelling mistakes in each looooooooong paragraph (lol) and daaaaaamnnnnnnnn- it’s just amazing I can’t put it to words I- )
