It's complicated because Lukas did organize medical treatment that turned Rain into a full omega who experienced heats, without Rain's consent, in the name of getting an heir. This was back when Lukas saw Rain as less than human. But he changed his mind, fell in love with Rain and didn't even want to have a child wit him any more if there was a chance Rain could not safely give birth. Lukas became protective and controlling because of how vulnerable Rain is, and because of the lengths that his stepbrother will go to in order to destroy the both of them.
Anyway, Lukas' love for Rain is very real, despite the sh*tty things he did in the past. I think Lukas was controlling part because Rain is surrounded by sh*tty people (his stepbro, backstabbing peers, etc), like a sheep amongst wolves.

No, I think people still hate him! But Lukas isn't the same person he was at the start. There is nothing he wouldn't do for Rain, as long as Rain is safe. But he gets triggered and blindly jealous when his stepbro deliberately does things to bait him and hurt Rain.
Yeah, it is. I hated Lukas to start with. He was a cold, cold person and then we found out he was raised in a cold, emotionally neglectful environment with a scumbag of a father and a jealous stepbrother and a lack of anyone who genuinely cared for him. But he is becoming a better person, at least towards Rain, even if he slips up and now then.
