I love how ppl in the comments is either worried for Kouichi or enjoying the smut, while the boy himself is having the time of his life with the love of his life. It's fiction and a fantasy, just enjoy the ride fellow readers ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

I made a comment a few hours ago backing the Duke up aND HE BETRAYED ME, ALL OF US AND AREUM.

I'm conflicted now because I'm enjoying the cute and fluffy moments between them now that Areum has realized her and his feelings, but the angst that's coming... I'm actually really looking forward to Areum snapping the heck at him but I'm very disappointed in him. I still love his character, I just wish WISH he would have kept improving instead of this...

I still understand were he's coming from and everything he's gone through, but it still doesn't justify his actions. I still like him, just disappointed in him like I said.

dagrandesibuna October 26, 2019 3:48 pm

CALM DOWN! He was thinking that, there's a good chance he won't go through with it and actually ask Areum about it! He's been showing so much development it'd be a true shame for him to go back to his forceful ways (although he's still forceful but in a different way from before). I truly hope the author doesn't follow through, Areum is getting there but not to the point of her turning into a vampire for him.

Although I'll be honest, that's the kind of ending I wish for, so that they aren't killed. BUT I WANT MUTUAL AGREEMENT!

    BlueRaven October 26, 2019 6:30 pm

I honestly think he is going to go through with it. He is a lonely and desperate man, he might feel guilty but he'll certainly try to tie her to him for life and not regret it.

Also, I don't think it's going to work since she's essentially a giant void, meaning she not going to be either light or dark; just emptiness. So, I think he gonna try but ultimately fail.

But the "supplement" though. He's totally doing it!!

I actually feel that because she's empty it's precisely why she could easily turn into a vampire. I'm unsure of course since they haven't really explained how or the process (considering it varies from story to story) but I'd still want it if Areum does as well!

And I do see your point, my wish is for him not to but he could easily be swayed by his feelings and just go through with it. I can't blame him, considering what he's been through, and he's even aware that Areum wouldn't forgive him for a good time period as well... we'll see.

I actually think she wouldn't be so against it if they were both really into each other and he HAD ASKED HER FIRST.

Sadly, I've read the next 3 chapters now and realized he actually went through with it. I'm conflicted since she's realized her and his feelings now, and they are actually really cute and getting along... I can't enjoy the fluff knowing the angst that's to come... it'll be a big blow for her knowing he's secretly transforming her...

It's a way to interject the same feeling that the start of this story had. Something bad has to happen, and it can't come from the outside for it to have a massive impact.

I know many dislike the fact that Seungho raped Nakyum, and rape in yaoi / BL in general since it's like a trope now, but this is the first time it makes sense. I'm not saying rape is good, not at all I dislike the rape trope as much as everyone else, but considering the setting, the time period, the story and the roles (Seungho being a high ranking official that can and will do as he desires because he can, and Nakyum as a commoner trapped inside Seungho's place) it MAKES SENSE that Seungho just went and raped Nakyum because he felt attracted to him. And that doesn't mean IT'S OKAY, but IN THIS TYPE OF STORY it's plausible. It's Seungho's character, heck I would have disliked it more if he had been nice to Nakyum, because in this point of the story it would have been freaking out of character. He won't suddenly turn nice just because of Nakyum, when they have barely interacted in a normal way.

Now, I'd love to think that at some point Seungho becomes softer to Nakyum, but right at this moment we can't expect that. I'm unsure how this will go, but let's wait and see how the story unfolds. The author is great and the drawings are beautiful as well!

I agree with you, the most interesting is when the characters acts’ makes sense.

The seme was portrayed as a gay man who have sex frequently with a lot of people and he has no pity (considering he killed without a care). But still, he didnt just rape the uke out of nowhere right from the start.

And even though rape is bad, the worst of it is how it affects people mentally. But this one (and most of them in yaoi but this one was quite smooth due to the uke’s state) probably won’t be too bad on the uke.

Also the seme has been quite good towards the uke (for his character, thatsgood atleast). But yea im expecting him to become softer but not too much xD.

Yes! Thank you! I find this one quite interesting because like you emphasized before, the seme was actually quite good to the uke itself. Seungho properly prepared him and made sure he was alright throughout the experience, something he wouldn't have cared about before (from what we get from him). He might have raped him, but he still treated him as good as he could within his character settings.

I wonder were it'll go from now on, specially with Nakyum. Thank you for the comment :)

It only took one chapter for the hero to become my favorite character in this manga. He isn't even a main character (or might be from now on?) but Euri IS SO CUTE! He has a great personality and I love how cheerful he is as well. Can't say the same for the ML though (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ (although he looked soft while softly touching the handkerchief MC gave him)

    titetoile11 October 20, 2019 6:12 pm

yeah, the MC is so damn ANNOYING! there's a limit to miscommunication!

What's infuriating is two things: First, Edi. I get all the tsundere vibe and why he became that way, but the thing is only we the readers get to see how he truly feels. Some characters are able to understand that as well, but he still doesn't do any effort to communicate with the MC. Now, it isn't only Edi's fault, because I'm sure if the MC were to truly communicate with him he would comply. Now the second one is: the MC is doing NOTHING to actually communicate with him or at least tell him how she truly feels. She lets it go and smiles away. I'm sure it infuriates Edi as much as us, and only lets his twisted personality to keep going. Big sigh, hoping for development now that they're apart from each other again.

dagrandesibuna October 17, 2019 12:36 am

Is there romance at all in this? There's the shounen-ai tag, but all I've seen in the comments is how funny it is... I'd like a dose of romance as well. If it doesn't, is it worth it anyway? Thank you in advance!!!

Spoilers if you haven't read all of volume 7:

I feel really bad for Machi because she's one adorable girl, but Takahashi-sensei has now made it clear that he's not only interested in Saki but he likes her already (chapter 49, page 16).

I also loved that Saki talked Takahashi-sensei into properly replying to Machi, because she deserves to get an answer for her feelings. Saki-sensei is a wonderful being as well, so I hope the ship sails without drama soon!

dagrandesibuna October 12, 2019 6:56 pm

When Hayato was talking about his brothers, all I could think was how cute it was. He's truly devoted to them and you can see just how good he is (a kind adult and brother). They truly don't deserve someone as great as him, so I'm glad they won't go after him anymore. He's way better off without them, and finding someone who will love him for who he is and will also love the brothers as well (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

Since I read the raws I can confirm many parts were missing, AND THE BEST PART AT THE END IS GONE TOO (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ (will say what happens down below as it is a spoiler)

Thank you for picking it up and translating it, but I'd also hope that they update it with the full chapter as well! Thank you for the hard work!

SPOILER ALERT

Doyoon runs to the Director like we saw, I couldn't understand what he says but he hugs him and the chapter ends with them kissing so I assume Doyoon is honest with him after realizing he's about to lose him.

I realized it since I had seen this chapter all over IG since like 2 weeks ago, so I already knew what was going on and could get the grasp of it as well since some kind users tend to at least summarize the content. It was a shame because I was really looking forward to this chapter, but let's wait and see if it gets updated :)

So I had seen this manga ever since the first few chapters were out. I'm not one to get into ongoing manga, I prefer waiting until it's completed unless it's really good. Even when the anime was announced, I noticed there was a lot of drama / angst going on so I thought to myself "might be good but not worth the pain" so I still chose to wait for a little longer until the drama settled down or I started watching the anime.

I became a fan of the anime pretty quickly, and even then I thought "it's REALLY good but I'll finish the anime before reading the manga". But aaaah do tell me, how was I such a big fool this entire time? When I got to episode 9, believe, I realized how foolish I had been every single time for missing out on this for such a long time. Everything about this manga, about this work is absolutely phenomenal. The "drama", the "angst" is so beautifully written it's absurd to call it that. It's real, it's painful yes, it breaks you yes, but you can't even call it drama because it's so deep it's much more than that. The characters are written in such a way that you feel them, every single time. I've become way too attached to them and their stories, so now I can't stop crying rereading this and rewatching the anime. I won't even start with the art and the plot flow because I won't end.

It took me a long time to get here, and I've scolded myself enough times already, but I'm so happy I got to find this absolute masterpiece. For anyone wondering if they should read this or watch the anime, DO IT! Definitely read before watching though, I'm sure the experience must be much better that way.

I agree with this on a spiritual level I--
I remember when the first few chapters were being released on mangago (back when my taste in BL was still shallow & my appreciation for storytelling was unrefined), I thought of it as boring. I wasn't a fan of slowburn mangas in general, but in the past year, my tastes have changed.

I've gotten into reading all of the available chapters & binge-watched the anime - I regret nothing. There's quite a few clichés in it but somehow Natsuki-sensei was just able to tell the story in such a refreshing way (not to mention, the beautiful art). Like, the dead lover trope, the genius/fast-learner trope, the re-encounters with people you know from the past, etc. but the characters are fleshed out so well that you can't help but fall in love with them & their journey, y'know.

I realize that I'm often mesmerized by stories that have both good plot and characters. There's a lot of good plot out there, which I enjoy, but sometimes I can't get into the characters, which made it feel lacking. Sometimes they're not fleshed out very well, or we simply don't get to see their thoughts & emotions outside of the romance realm. I love the friendships & family interactions in this, it makes the characters feel more real.

Aaaah- such a nice reply to get back to as well. Thank you very much for sharing your story as well! It makes me happy you could relate to mine and in a sense I could also relate to you.

Back then I wasn't all up for slow paced mangas, so I definitely wouldn't have appreciated it as I do now. I'm extremely sure of it now. I believe we found it just when we needed it, and that's the beauty of it in itself.

Like you mentioned previously, even with all the clichés thrown here and there it still feels well written and thought every single time. Never did I feel the 'oh damn here we go again' or felt like it was being dragged out. We didn't even need the stereotypical 'oh, am I in love?' type of scenes or self-reflections to realize just how much every character fell for each other. Them expressing their feelings out loud simply seemed like the right thing to do for both them and their loved one, but never for us. It's like they're all living their lives to their fullest and letting us watch over them as they go about them. That's how it all feels to me and that's honestly beautiful.

I will probably take a while until I can find such a heartfelt manga once again, if you have anything you would like to share I'd definitely take it! Gems are such a rare find nowadays after all! Thank you once again for your insight :)
