ok so basically in the end the humans were mad at the vampires for purposely spreading a virus and killing them, and the vampires were mad at the humans because they saw them as live stock. Eric being the only person that is both human and vampire, decided to take the blame from both sides because he is both. Then his partner shoot him, but his partner shot him at wear Eric had hid a stone block, so it didn't kill him. (this was all planned) So in the end it shows vampires and humans living peacefully, and Erics blood is used to stabilize the vampires without using human blood because he has both blood in him.
