i dont wanna spoil the fun for you tho! its just my honest opinion and a lot of people seems to like them so you might like them as well. butttt if you really wanna know its bc i dont like the ml AT ALL. throughout the entire story he was just taking advantage of the mc’s painfully obv feelings for him to manipulate him. but then all of a sudden he’s being sincere? it feels shallow and rushed for me.

It was apparent that he either didn't realize his feelings for Yiseon or didn't wanna admit it. Because as we see, Hyeon has always been calculative and rational. So why would he put so much effort into someone he didn't feel anything for? Everytime he saw that Yiseon was thinking about his past Hyeon got upset. Clearly because he thought his efforts weren't working. So I don't think it was sudden or rushed. He just needed a rude awakening that he indeed liked him.

yes. he's like that bc of some important plot relevant thing that caused a misunderstanding. the manhwa skipped a lot of novel chapters so the beginning is very fast paced
